World Law Congress presented to Santiago’s business community

Representatives of the World Jurist Association have presented to the authorities and businessmen of the city of Santiago the details of the World Law Congress 2025 to be held in Santo Domingo from 4 to 6 May. The aim of the event is to elevate the Dominican Republic to the global stage, making it the world capital of law in conjunction with the entire Dominican legal and civil society.

During this meeting, Ángela Montoya, executive president of the congress, stated that ‘the importance of this congress lies in its capacity to unite expert voices from all over the world, entrepreneurs and future generations of experts, and to promote dialogue in a world where respect for the law is fundamental, because if the world is not governed by the law, there will be failures’. She was joined by Gabriel Fernández, WJA representative to the United Nations (UN), and Wendy Sánchez Imbert, WLC ambassador.

At this event, they emphasised that the Dominican Republic has positioned itself as an ideal place for this international congress, thanks to its solid democracy and stable institutions. Montoya stressed that ‘the country, in addition to its tourist attraction, has a rich biodiversity and extraordinary geographical beauty that make it a unique destination’.
